Keeping ALT menu bar active with mouse pointer = better FR

Featured Replies

why is frame rate much higher when keeping in full screen, the alt menu bar when the mouse pointer rests on top of it ? This is the same as the ifly 737 ....about 50% increase here on my rig

It's a quite well known phenomenon where clickspots have to be calculated as soon as the mouse pointer is active in the VC. Move the mouse pointer to the task or menu bar, or a 2D panel popup, or simply wait for the mouse pointer to become inactive and to disappear, and FSX stops calculating the click dots -> very noticeable increase of FR. A lot of aircraft addons show this behaviour in FSX. I haven't noticed it in P3D yet, though.

No I'm in FSX se now

That's exactly the same as in FSX then.

The iFly suffers a lot from this effect, but most other complex addons do as well, just not as bad. (Aersoft Airbus, some Realairs, the PMDG planes, etc.) I can confirm that I have the effect in my Hawker in FSX as well.
