Obviously Myworld 2004 covers the whole world, but I>primarily fly in the U.S.>>Thank you!>>Jason ZhangMy personal experience and testing shows that MyWorld2004 is pretty inaccurate in North America, both in urban as well as rural areas. I have tested based on comparison with satellite photos, as well as my own flight experience in areas where I live and visit.FSGenesis is much more accurate but only covers the US. There are some good freeware landclass offerings for some of the Canadian provinces that are extremely accurate, and Ultimare Terrain by Flight1 does a pretty good job of providing city landclass in the US and Canada. I hear that MyWorld2004 is more accurate in Europe, but that isn't the area where I fly in the sim, and I haven't checked the accuracy.
July 11, 200520 yr I have My world 2004 and 2005, and I wasn't overly impressed with both. They improve the variety of terrain but in North America it wasn't all that accurate, and cities and towns were offset badly. Also with 2005 many of the valleys in BC were turned to pure rock - it looked horrendous.I highly recommend Ultimate Terrain, though it only covers city landclasses (it's main focus is roads, rivers, railroads, special 3D lighting etc. looks fantastic though I'm a beta tester for it so I may be somewhat biased lol)THe FS Genesis is quite popular for the USA so if that is where you do most of your flying , get it (and perhaps UT USA as well?)
July 12, 200520 yr Author Yeah, I bought the 2005 version of MyWorld that was just released a couple of months ago. You're right on the money with the area in southern BC. I posted about the area around Abbotsford on the MyWorld forum, and the answer was a little less than inspiring. I could have used a random landclass file and probably had about as much chance of getting it right. For a good southwest BC landclass, try Dirks Software freeware BC landclass. http://www.dirks-software.ca/
