I'm not using the Nvidia driver method, but I have an OS-based calibrated profile. Windows has gotten pretty good at supporting custom profiles. I need it for graphics work, but I find that having a calibrated display also helps with gaming, especially in FSX. Lots of beautiful colors in the sim, and a calibrated color profile will show off the work developers and painters originally intended (as long as their displays were calibrated too I suppose). Seems especially true for liveries, where reproducing the specific color is vital, the exact brown for UPS or exact red/blue for Southwest for instance.
