July 15, 200520 yr I have been away from flight simming for well over a year...and not at aVSIM or any other flight sim site for this time.Has anything transpired with FS2004 in the last year?new patchesgreat addsis there a planned new FS in the works?
July 15, 200520 yr Dave:Nope, not much. Everything is pretty much status quo. One or two new files uploaded since last year and a few friendly posts. But you might just want to look around this forum and maybe check out the file section. Using a search engine here might turn up one or two minor additions/upgrades/changes.Seriously, so much has gone on that you may just want to take some time looking around. Check with all of the 3rd party sites that you knew a year ago, as well.:-) Wilson
July 15, 200520 yr Just give the news section archive here at AVSim a whirl and that should probably give a good indication. Lots of great GA aircraft released freeware/payware - world still awaits the arrival of the PMDG 747 if you are into heavies. PIC767 2005 version is out, its now called LDS767, wich seems to be all the rave.Couple of scenery enhancement products, Activesky new version (includes sky textures), some mega scenery for the US. Not alot in the airport scenery has happend in my view.
July 15, 200520 yr Like Wilson implies, after pulling your leg, it is hard to know where to begin. What are your interests? Aircraft? Scenery? Avionics? I guarantee, there have been notable releases in all those areas in the last year. Read back through the reviews here to get an idea of what's new.I've just returned from a 15 month hiatus from flight simming. A couple of major new "toys" that have really improved my sim experience are Ultimate Terrain for Alaska/Canada and the new Sandel from Reality XP.Basil

July 15, 200520 yr I've been looking around ... tons of stuff :)Mainly I'm into scenery ... Alaska for sure ...and landclass for USThe Lago stuff in Washington state was fabulous...did that ever get upgraded to 2004???
July 15, 200520 yr Well, if it's scenery you like, you need look no further than Holger Sandmanns payware Misty Fjords and his freeware Columbia River Gorge scenery. Truly sublime...and grab Milton Shupe's freeware Beechcraft D18 too.also grab FS skyworld (freeware)...Oh, and if you happen to have Realair's SF260 already, you should very seriously consider purchasing the recent upgrade for it which makes an already great plane even better. If don't already have it, get it. Oh, if you like warbirds, get their Spitfire too.:)
July 15, 200520 yr Check out FS Genesis for really good US landclass. Also, consider Ultimate Terrain - USA and Canada (two packages), especially if you are into VFR.Wilson
