question regarding the mip mapping from the tips page

hi I have a question regarding this process from the pinned tips page

I think I have a large number of possibly unmipped files especially older ai aircraft files that I use in both fsx and P3D that are saved in one folder that both sims access

So does this process work for fsx mipped files also or is it only for P3D?

The process of optimizing textures is just as valid for FSX as it is for Prepar3d.
