July 28, 200520 yr Just wondering if it is possible to export FS2004s complete list of Airports along with the City and Country for each airport?I would like to use it in a database for my own personal use. Please tell me if its possible and if so, is it legal!!?!?
July 28, 200520 yr For your own use - absolutely legal. If it can be done - no clue.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpghttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_beta_member.jpg Michael J.
July 28, 200520 yr Commercial Member FSNav compiles a list of airports to a txt file. It looks like it lists the ICAO for each arpt along with city and latt/long coordinates. Unfortunately no country. Look in "Flight Simulator 9ModulesFSNavigatorBin" for "ICAO.txt". Huge txt file at about 870k on my machine. If you don't have FSNav (you should) let me know and I'll zip it up and post it for you.Jim
July 28, 200520 yr If you would like a list that has already been extracted there is one in the AVSIM file library. Search for author Winfried Orthmann under FS2004 - Miscellaneous Files.Andrew BrownRoaring Thirtieshttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
July 28, 200520 yr Traffic Tools (freeware ai program)http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004ai&DLID=34731has a great little program in it that does what you are looking for.Regards
July 28, 200520 yr It's legal as long as you copy them all down by hand from the UI. As for trying to extract them from the FS database, perhaps you missed this little gem in the EULA:Limitations on Reverse Engineering, Decompilation, and Disassembly. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the SOFTWARE PRODUCT, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this limitation.
