August 8, 201510 yr So far it only happens while getting close to the approach, say 5,000'. It'll totally ignore the VNAV profile Paul, I'm not having any problems with the VNAV profile on RNAV approaches. I tried one last night into KSPS flying the RNAV RWY15R from over WALTO. What I do is hardcode the altitudes and airspeeds for the approach. For example CEKAP would be 180/2700 and RWY15R would be 150/1069. After WALTO I run the Altitude to 00000 on the MCP. Once I have passed CEKAP (IAP) I changed the Altitude in the MCP to the MAP altitude of 3500. There needs to be sufficient altitude between the altitude passing and the MAP altitude so the A/P does not try to recapture the MCP altitude. I wait until there is at 1,000 difference between the IAP and MAP altitude. I will manually control the A/S in the MCP. It works in the PMDG MD-11, B737 and the B777. I Earned My Spurs in Vietnam
