Project Opensky Boeing 747 Ground Equipment

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am using for most of my airplanes in FS9 AES for ground equipment.
But with the Posky 747 Pax/Combi airplanes it comes with it's own service equipement.
Is there a way to turn this off?

Thanks for your help!

Guy

Is there a way to turn this off?

Which one?

The Posky ground stuff: I don't know as i never flew this plane

AES: Open aesconfig and disable the doors. You can still use the pushback and followme, but AES won't give you the stairs and catering vehicles.

The posky ground equipement. Because I much rather use the AES one ;-)

Hopefully there is a way...

Okay, I downloaded the model.

You can disable the ground stuff as follows:

Open the FS9 directory, go to Aircraft>Posky 747 or whatever the folder name is for the aircraft. Panel folder, open the panel.cfg with a text editor. (But before editing it, copy a backup so if you screw up you can go back.)

You will see a line [Window Titles]

Under it search for something like this: window08=Posky Utility

Delete this line. If it was the last entry, you are lucky.

Scroll down until you see a similar entry:

[Window08]
VISIBLE=0
position=2
size_mm=338,80
child_3d=0
background_color=0,0,0
ident=Posky Utility
gauge00=Pky_Util!Pky_Init, 0, 0
gauge01=Pky_Util!Pky_Timer, 0, 0
gauge02=Pky_util!Pky_Util, 0, 0

It will have the same "Window number" as the entry you deleted earlier. Delete this part as well and save the file.

If it was not the last entry, for eg. there was "window09=Mini Panel" after it, you need to renumber the other "windowXX" entries, so they go from 0 to the last one.

In that case you also have to renumber the [Window00] entries, so they match up with their number defined in the  "windowXX=00"  sections.

Hope it is clear.

In the worst case, you can send the panel.cfg for me and I'll deal with it, but this is basic FS9 panel editing, so it's worth learning  :smile:

Cheers,

Hi Atilla,

I've done what you told me earlier, but it did not work :(

I deleted the particular window line, even the Utility map in the panel map but when I start FS and open de cargo hold the GSE keeps on popping up.

Hmm, sorry to hear that.

It seems that they hardcoded the ground stuff to the mdl.

I don't know if that could be edited.

I will take a look next week.

There is a way to disable the GSU's by default. (As I myself have done) The XML file needs to be edited ....but I cannot check which one until I am back from my hols next week.

panel folder> Pky_util folder

Pky_Init.xml

<!-- Ground service Unit on 0 /off 1 -->
0 (>L:PkyGSUAPP,bool)
<!-- Ground service Unit2 Tailstand on 0 /off 1 -->
0 (>L:PkyGSUBAPP,bool)
<!-- Ground service Stair Truck on 1 /off 0 -->
0 (>L:PkyST_APP,bool)
<!-- Ground service Cathering Truck on 1 /off 0 -->
0 (>L:PkyCT_APP,bool)

Replace the 0s with 1, and vice versa.

(May not work as I haven't tested it yet)

If that is the solution though, you will have to say thanks to Ed  :wink:
