September 17, 201510 yr I just bought the Quest Kodiak and find that the red knobbed “Condition Lever” does not work. Neither does it work in the default Cessna Caravan. Aside from the “condition lever,” everything else seems to work normally in both aircraft. I have only the steam edition of FSX.
September 17, 201510 yr I doubt the condition lever in the default Caravan is meant to move at all, not sure about the Kodiak... is there a manual? It should tell you which instruments are modelled and which aren't. - Paul Elliott http://www.avsim.com/topic/450607-amy-johnson-london-to-australia-attempt/

Aside from the “condition lever,” everything else seems to work normally in both aircraft. I have only the steam edition of FSX. The condition lever maps to the same lever that you use for mixture control in piston props. In FSX the button equivalents are Ctrl+Shift+F2 (increase slowly), Ctrl+Shift+F3 (decrease slowly). All the basic keyboard controls can be found on the kneeboard, accessible from within the sim. They should also be movable with the mouse. If neither button nor mouse work, make sure you don't have auto-mixture checked in settings.
September 21, 201510 yr Author Thank you for your reactions. Can't find anything relevant in the manual. Automixture is not checked. The Ctrl+Shift+F2 (increase slowly), Ctrl+Shift+F3 (decrease slowly) operate the mixture control not the condition lever. The mouse does not move the condition control. Any more ideas?
September 21, 201510 yr Send an e-mail to Lionheart re the Quest, they are very helpful... Cheers, Mal Walsh

Now I'm confused There is no mixture control in a turboprop, and definitely not in the Caravan or Kodiak. I don't have the Kodiak to check but the Caravan has a red-knobbed emergency power control lever to the left of the Power lever. This is non-functional in the sim. The correct lever that should work (per a mixture control) is the one on the right of the binnacle, inboard of the flap lever. If that is working, then you have no issues. And only three positions to worry about: CutOff; low idle for ground operations; high idle at all other times. The secondary power control emergency lever is simply a feature of the actual PT6 to allow for some rough control in the event of a failure of the main fuel flow sensors that are controlled by the power and condition levers. It doesn't work in the Caravan (no idea about the Kodiak). I think at this point it would be helpful if you could take a few screenshots of what you are looking at, so we can check whether you have an issue or not.
September 22, 201510 yr Author louisdecoolste, Thank you for your response. I didn't realize that a turboprop does not have a mixture control. The information that the lever that is normally the "mixture control" in piston aircraft is actually the condition lever in the turboprops solves my problem. Thank you for your help.
