Landing Lights for online flying AI using IVAO MTL problem

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am using the IVAO MTL package for flying online and the lights of the AI aircraft seem overly bright and big...almost as if the aircraft is engulfed in flames!!

I have read that one should try using a different halo.bmp file...my question is do the IVAO MTL package use the standard fsx halo file or not...how can I change this file to a better one and any suggestions for a halo file itself that will not produce such lights pls?

i have tried to post some images but for the life of me I keep getting not allowed to post this type of image extension...i m using .jpg or .png as per forum instructions.

thanks to all

emann

In the aircraft.cfg of these airplanes, what does it say in the [lights] section? And have you recently installed a program that replaces the lights like Rex? I'd go back to default lights and see if they still show up like that. And are you using any lights config lines in your fsx.cfg file?

hi,

thanks for your help.

below i am copying two sections of lights for the b738 and b744 for your review and assistance...you can spot anything wrong with them maybe?

this is for b738
[lights]
light.0=3, -18.51, -54.9, 5.16, fx_navred
light.1=3, -18.51, 54.90, 5.16, fx_navgre
light.2=2, -19.98, -55.45, 5.23, fx_strobe
light.3=2, -19.98, 55.45, 5.23, fx_strobe
light.4=1, -3.7, 0.01, -3.73, fx_beacon
light.5=1, 1.10, 0, 10.18, fx_beacon
light.6=3, -24.04, 56.39, 5.09, fx_navwhi
light.7=3, -24.04, -56.39, 5.09, fx_navwhi
light.8=2, -67.1, 0, 8.32, fx_strobe

this is for b744
[lights]
light.0=3, -46.19, -103.51, 8.27, fx_navred
light.1=3, -46.18, 103.52, 8.27, fx_navgre
light.2=2, -46.32, -103.56, 8.28, fx_strobe
light.3=2, -46.37, 103.56, 8.27, fx_strobe
light.4=2, 9.16, 0, -5.88, fx_beacon
light.5=1, 67.28, 0, 19.73, fx_beacon
light.6=3, -120.78, -0.15, 11.85, fx_navwhi
light.7=3, -120.78, 0.15, 11.85, fx_strobe

I have REX but this has been installed for quite some time now...I have no lines  for lights config in the fsx.cfg which I have tweaked in particular.

I am also noting that since going on a 3 monitor setup,various sceneries, like heathrow and berlin tegel have quite some exagerrated airport lights...expecially the green and blue lights....in any case i can live with this but the aircraft lights are really bugging me.

appreciate any assistance.

regards,
emann

hi...just to report that these lights make the aircraft look much much better....thanks for the tip in following this thread and file....

I note now that most airports of aerosoft (well i have two from them) have the same huge blurry lights of the runway, taxiways, etc...is there any other type of file available to change these as well if you may happen to know pls.

tks
