I find that for me the best approach (pun intended) is to disable  FTX regions if I'm flying into a highly detail airport.    It's kind of a waste of resource to run an FTX region in this scenario.    Flying into a major airport presumably means you are flying some kind of heavy metal, so the VFR goodness that FTX regions provide is pretty useless.   I have tried it and gives my (not too slouchy pc) a migraine - and will OOM.

My settings is LOD maxed and same for complexity and 2048 texture. Dense autogen but only 5 % road traffic.

I also just use one GTX970 1920x1200 .Whats your CPU and speed?

LOD radius MAX as well, and textures 2048. I also have max cloud density but I haven't checked the options within ASN. Maybe I should also try lowering road traffic since I'm currently plowing it at 25 %.
