August 22, 200520 yr Has anyone got Bill Lyons Hawaii package radios working yet? When I first installed it the radio worked. I was able to set the AM/FM buttons OK by right clicking on the buttons. I never did get the CD to work. Now when I open the curtain to view the radio in the VC my VC tooltips are disabled and the mouse no longer works in the VC to set any of the gauges like the flaps, etc. I reinstalled it from scratch and it still does not work. I did remove the x from the line in the VC section of the panel.cfg as directed. Any help sure would be appreciated. Thanks, best regards, Bob.
August 22, 200520 yr I've been trying to get the AM/FM/CD radio in the Stinson to work -- but to no avail so far. Have asked questions in this forum too but no reply.Barry
August 22, 200520 yr I believe that info is included in the readme files that come with the aircraft. It was a long time ago I set that up but I think you have to set a path the the main sound files in FS for each channel of the radio. Like I said its been awhile since I've done this.Jan
August 22, 200520 yr Correct, Jan. You need to set up your preferred tracks in the .ini file.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
August 22, 200520 yr Author Hi all. Here is the section of the CD portion:"The AM Radio radio comes preloaded with several period AM radio broadcasts but is shipped unactivated because some OS/card combinations have problems. To activate it, using Windows Explorer go to the Aircraft/S43/panel folder and using notepad open the panel.cfg file. Toward the bottom you will find this block:[Vcockpit09]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=256,256visible=0pixel_size=256,256stexture=$pan9gauge00=switch02d!switch, 0,128,128,128gauge01=s43custom!curtain, 128,128,128,128gauge02=xradiocd4!radiocd, 128,0,128,128gauge03=F4F4_Wildcat!Flaps-Lever,0,0,128,128DELETE the x from the gauge02= line and the AM Radio/CD player will become operational. ADD the x back if you experience slow down or other difficulties! DIFFERENT INSTALLATION LOCATIONS might cause you to get "File Not Found or File Nor Assigned" tooltip messages! If so then first go to Window Mode to make file assignments. Right Click on a preset button and a selection screen will appear where you can brouse to your main fs2004 sound file. Select one of the "Songxx.wmv" files and assign it. Repeat for the other buttons and you will be operational. You can now return to full screen mode to continue flying."I did delete the x. There is no mention of any ini file. I can't even get past opening the curtain now to even try allocating the presets again. Regards, Bob.
August 22, 200520 yr Author Hi Barry. I looked elsewhere and found some help. Here is the scoop on the Stinson:1) Go to the VC panel2) Go to the radio/CD on the back seat.3) Click in the "On" button on the very top right.4) Click on the CD button which is the top button of the three on the right side. 5) Put a CD in your CD drive. 6) Click on the track you want on the bottom row of buttons. It will play. You can select tracks with the switches on the bottom.7) If you want FM click on the center button on the right side.8) Go to Window mode9) Right click on the switch #1 on the bottom row of switches.10) You will get a screen of your Sound Folder where you can select a file. There are songs that were installed in the Sound Folder by the Hawaii Package. I don't know where the files are for the Stinson. You can select any file you want.11) You have to go back into Window mode to set each one every time until all the buttons are programmed. Once programmed they will stay. There is a dat file created in the gauges folder.12) Do the same for the AM radio. AM button is the bottom of the three on the right side. It's too bad this does not work for me on the S43. Hope this helps. Regards, Bob.
August 22, 200520 yr In the Stinson a/c, I also have a number of other gauges which have an x in front of them[Vcockpit08]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=256,256visible=0pixel_size=256,256stexture=$pan8gauge00=xstinradio2!button, 0,128,128,128,ccradio2.wma [175]gauge01=xstinradio3!button, 128,128,128,128,ccradio3.wma [195]gauge02=xstinradio4!button, 128,0,128,128,ccradio4.wma [135]gauge03=xstinradio5!button, 0,0,128,128,ccradio5.wma [135][Vcockpit09]Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=256,256visible=0pixel_size=256,256stexture=$pan9gauge00=xstinradio6!button, 0,128,128,128,ccradio6.wma [135]gauge01=stinselect, 128,128,128,128gauge02=Piper_J3Cub!engine_primer, 128,0,128,128gauge03=DeHavilland_Comet!Clock,0,0,128,128These gauges aren't anywhere to be found in my computer - with or without the x . Neither are these WMA files precent in my computerOh well - such is life -- It was free and I am still enjoying Bills creations. I do like the way in which he supplies some "extras" with his a/c and also his created flights.Barry
August 22, 200520 yr Author Hi Barry. I noticed that too. I think the planes that were released, as freeware, by Bill, most graciously, were stripped of some of the payware features. Regards, Bob.
