August 23, 200520 yr Having spent some time with Eric Dantes excellent Twin Bonanza (http://www.e-d-aviation.com), I have absolutely fallen in love with this plane. While Eric's version of the Twin Bonanza is very good and I am in no way criticising his work, it doesn't match the quality of some of the better, more recent, payware products. Especially the virtual cockpit, which is where I spend practically all of my sim time. Does anyone know if there are any high-quality payware versions of the Twin Bonanza available? Failing that, are there any other high-quality twins of comparable vintage? I am not particularly interested in more modern planes with glass cockpits etc.Thanks.
August 23, 200520 yr There is a great looking Baron 58 coming soon from Dreamfleet.http://www.dreamfleet2000.com/index.htmTony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]
August 24, 200520 yr And another soon from Aeroworx. Check out their B200 Super King Air anyway. One variant has steam driven guages and the VC is outstanding.Cheers,N. 11th Gen i9-11900K @ 3.5GHz | nVidia GeForce RTX 3080 | Corsair 64 GB RAM | Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB | Asus 27" RoG G-Sync Track IR5 | Thrustmaster Warthog | CH Products Pedals
August 24, 200520 yr Not the same vintage as the Twin Bonanza, but I really enjoy the FSD Piper Seneca V. Looks and flys great!Jim
August 24, 200520 yr For a similar vintage, checkout the Dreamfleet Cessna 310 http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=c310v1Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
August 24, 200520 yr Or for something which may or may not be a little more complex, the Martin Shupe Commanders and Shrike (http://www.flightsimonline.com/commander) and Veneaviones Turbo Commander (http://www.avsim.com/veneaviones) are great!I digress, though, as I know you were looking for a Twin Bonanza.
August 24, 200520 yr None of these planes mentioned is a twin bonanza. Eric Dantes depicted a unique airplane with some unique qualities, like the 3 abreast seating etc. It has a few issues...for one, I think the landing gear is too big. But generally speaking its very well done and fun to fly. Certainly I am grateful its free!!! Erics pilot figures are also amongst the best done. I personally wish he would release some kind of API or SDK containing these pilot figures because I have seen much worse in payware! In any case, whilst not perfect, I agree these are extremely good.Eric AND
August 24, 200520 yr Eric Dantes' Twin Bonanza is, IMO, one of the best freeware aircraft out there. The only thing I wonder about is the fact it has a total of eight seats. I didn't think they made Twin Bonanzas that seated more than six.
August 24, 200520 yr Thanks for all the suggestions. I have the Dreamfleet Cessna 310, FSD Seneca V and PMDG B200 as well as Milton Shupe's Aero Commander and Beech D18 sitting in the hangar. Until I came across the Twin Bonanza, the Seneca V was pretty much my plane of choice. I don't know why but there's something about the Twin Bonanza that really resonates with me. Here's hoping that some talented designer out there already has one on the drawing board! I'm even tempted to try my hand at putting together a version myself though I'm sure it'll take at least a couple of years to become proficient enough to put together something decent.
