Upgrade suggestions

Good morning. I'm finally finding the time to devote more time to the hobby and am asking for recommendations to upgrade my current system. While it isn't the fastest it does have an i7 processor. Probably a new video card is in order. Suggestions?

Thanks

While it's an i7, it's about four generations old. Upgrade the CPU and RAM.

Cheers!

I make simFDR, the most advanced flight data recorder for FSX, Prepar3D and X-Plane.

The sim is still CPU bound to a great extent, therefore, as Luke said, CPU is your best bet. That would mean Motherboard CPU and RAM of course.

If you upgrade your graphics card too, do check that you have sufficient PSU wattage for your card. Also check that your PSU is certified for the newer generation CPU architecture, Haswell and above.
