  1. I am an Air Force Chaplain (Active Duty) and during my career have been fortunate to ride in a variety of airframes. B52, C130, F16B, KC 135, Lear, Hueys and a few other interesting AC
  2. Good day, I know Boeing and most other airliners use a yoke. But due to constraints where I flight sim, the joystick works best. Does anyone have suggestions how they set up their Rhino or similar yoke for airliner commands? Many thanks. Gary
  3. Magapixle May I ask where you purchased your system? You can IM me if you wish. Gary
  4. Good day. Does anyone have a profile for the X-55 Rhino they are using for the 737 NGX and would be willing to share? Or does anyone know of a source to research? I've seen some good maps on the DCS website and others which show how the controllers were configured. Thanks in advance Gay
  5. Good morning. I'm finally finding the time to devote more time to the hobby and am asking for recommendations to upgrade my current system. While it isn't the fastest it does have an i7 processor. Probably a new video card is in order. Suggestions? Thanks Gary Intel® Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz 7.4 Memory (RAM) 10.0 GB Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series Gaming graphics 4859 MB Total available graphics memory Primary hard disk 676GB Free (921GB Total)
  6. Good day, I saw on PC Aviator this new product they are carrying. I'm not a computer guru but it seems it uses a SSD/thumb drive to increase performance. Not being an expert I have no way of knowing if this has been tried before or if it's as they say, "the holy grail." Any thoughts? Gary
  7. Thanks for the suggestion!
  8. I have the PMDG NGX but unfortunately my system struggles at times to keep up with the requirements. Are there any recommendations to a NGX that is frame rate friendly? I know it will pale in comparison but I'm willing to trade a little procedures for frame rates. Thanks Gary
  9. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check them out!
  10. Good morning, I had flown with Frontier for a number of years before military requirements made me take a hiatus. Now I'm ready to start again but don't wish it fly online and would like to file PIREPS "manually" the "old" way. Would prefer some airline based in the Americas. Thanks Gary
  11. Good day After an extended hiatus due to military service I found my runways were "shimmering" and the default taxi guide no longer operated. I also noticed the shadows from the AC appeared off and on. I disabled the directed X and it helped some. I did install a 3rd party airport add on, but would it affect everything else? Thanks Gary
  12. Has anyone set up a profile for the X55 Rhino for commercial airliners, or has seen somewhere suggestions about setting it up? For example I saw a post about using one of the toggle switches for reverse thrust as there are no indents for the throttles as the pro flight quadrant. Thanks Gary
  13. Simply amazing. This is what I think FS could be given the right program which could utilize today's technology (not FSX) for a total "immersion" experience. Maybe some day a developer will publish a "next generation" flight sim which would run with decent frame rates etc. The trees and grass look amazing. Wonder what the frame rates hit will be? Thanks for sharing.
