Any Free Weather Engines for Real World Weather?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've just installed P3D v3 with a few addons and everything is working great - now I just need to find something for the weather!

I'm wondering if there are any free weather engines to provide real world weather for P3D by any chance? I know there are payware ones out there but surely there must be some free ones too? Eventually I'll just probably buy one but It would be good if there were any free ones for the time being?

Cheers guys!

-Yorkie

Michael,

How is the performance of this weather engine, compared to the paid ones?  I always like to have a backup on hand for my add-ons and while I use ASN, I find a slight fps hit with it, even after tweaking the settings.

I also wanted to add to the mix, this program called FSXWX.  Currently, a P3D v3 version is being looked into and worked out, but it is compatible with FSX and P3D v2.

I:d say they both can't compete with the features of ASN but they do quite well as a backup.

FSXWX is working with Prepar3D and surprisingly the other day it was the only engine that got the weather around Mount Rainier right.

Give them both a try.

I don't recall performance as I didn't use Realwx for ages, but it worked as such when I used it. From memory, Hans' remark is pretty on spot.

Kind regard, Michael
