Using the 737NGX with ASN

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

Purchased the PMDG 737NGX this week and have started the tutorial flights with P3D V3. I am using Active Sky Next with the default V3.0 aircraft and create a route and flight plan within ASN then select the flight at P3D startup. When using the 737NGX the route is created exclusively using the CDU/FMU. My question is with PMDG aircraft, will that route display within ASN or is live weather displayed as the flight progresses without a flight plan and briefing within ASN?

If you have PFPX you can save the same flight plan into ASN and the PMDG with the same AIRAC cycle. Saving both a P3DV2 file (into user documents) and a normal RTE file into the PMDG FLIGHT PLAN folder. Then load up the flight P3D V2 plan in ASN. Then you have synched up flight plans in the 737 and ASN.

The weather is live as it progesses. You can just fly with active sky and use the weather forecast on the news if you like. But weather is not always predictable even if you get a brief. You can get some nice info from ASN, about the wind and temp.

I always like to use the routes filed by the airlines in FlightAware. I have found that they are made for current weather and winds. Being ASN almost live weather, it works best.
