Panning for gold - EGSY

Featured Replies

Like a great many other simmers who attend this forum I am constantly on the look-out for scenery, aircraft, utilities and all the other great contributions to our hobby which do not necessarily cause me to dip into the meager retirement budget. While I cannot download and install all the excellent freeware I do sample as much as possible. I call this "panning" for lack of a better word.Well, the other day, I came across www.ukscenerydesign.co.uk and struck gold. As I always do with newly installed scenery I run up my trusty helicopter in real weather configuration and first off note the FPS on the monitor. If that is reasonable I then carefully investigate all the nooks and crannies for detail while adjusting my display settings for smooth control of the helicopter without annoying "stutters". In this case I had installed their Sheffield V2.0 EGSY and with all sliders full right except clouds without changing settings I had nothing less than 16 and mostly 26 FPS. They even provided a couple of helo pads for me. Just thought I'd share my find.I've bookmarked the web site and will keep watching for further scenery.Gary, Duncan(CAM3),VI,BC,Canada2.8 GhzRadeon 9800XT 256 (5.8)Twin 80 GB in raid 0 config.:-)

Brilliant stuff!!! I dont fly in the UK very often, so this was a pleasure to find this sheffield scenery! Moving cars on the airport and all. Great stuff.I also downloaded their RAF Tinwall Down scenery for my Golden Wings 3 set up. Another brilliant find!!! My realair Spitfire is enjoying both fields!Eric
