September 9, 200520 yr Hey,Does anyone know why I would not have blurries in the cockpit (even when I hide the panel) and in the virtual cockpit, but when I switch to spot plane view all of the textures not immediately beneath me are blurry?Thanks.http://www.kthxdone.com/images/kw_ft.jpgKen Weik [link:maam.org|MAAM-SIM][link:library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=kenneth+weik&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View]My AFCADs
September 9, 200520 yr There are a lot more ground tiles for FS to fill in when you are in spot mode. In addition, it has to predict which direction you are going and therefore which tiles to update. If you start rotating or changing your view angle in Spot, FS has to recalc all that again. At least that is how I understand it.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]
September 9, 200520 yr How can I decrease the amount of blurries in spot?http://www.kthxdone.com/images/kw_ft.jpgKen Weik [link:maam.org|MAAM-SIM][link:library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=kenneth+weik&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View]My AFCADs

September 10, 200520 yr Author Check your zoom settings in the different views. Zoom setting can significantly affect how blurry textures look.Matt
September 10, 200520 yr Thanks, so you just want to modify the range not the zoom?http://www.kthxdone.com/images/kw_ft.jpgKen Weik [link:maam.org|MAAM-SIM][link:library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=kenneth+weik&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View]My AFCADs
September 11, 200520 yr Ken...... If you have any addon scenery installed where you are getting the blurries, Look in that for some textures that are multi- format. We had that with out FREEflow Florida at Miami and Ft Lauderdale and it turned out to be the AI ships that was causing it. We made all those textures to DXT1 with Mips and that "cured" it.Addon scenery and AI can cause this with multi- format textures. If all textures are converted to DXT with mips it will usually go away.Joe W.http://home.comcast.net/~raptor67/Joe_W/Joe_sig.jpg Joe Watson Lake Placid, Florida

Same thing happens with Spot view. Higher the zoom, more textures look blurry. Better off don't have zoom better than 100% in spot view and just adjust the range.Matt
