Second Hard Drive

Featured Replies

THe people who make Mega Scenery recommended that the files be placed on a second hard drive to speed up scenery loading. I got a second HD and the result is amazing. There are no more tiles that come up slowly. All Megascenery areas are in full view as I scan from virtual cockpit. Is there any way this could be applied to the default scenery setup in FS9? That is, is there a way to get the default scenery transferred to a second hard drive to speed up loading? Thanks,Bruce

You can put scenery anywhere you want. Second drive, CD, network drive. Or I guess you could cache it to a second drive.scott s..

Which files should be moved and do I need to change the .cfg file?Bruce

Bruce - Move the entire Scenery folder to the second drive and then update the Scenery.cfg file to show the path to the new drive (the path to the new scenery location must be changed on the "Local=" line for each scenery area).Doug
