September 13, 200520 yr Cannot get off the ground during takeoff. Has anyone run into this problem? Thank you :-beerchug P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
September 13, 200520 yr Hey Beerchug - haven't tried the plane yet but have had same problem with other jets in the past. Try using elevator trim to get off the ground. Adjust trim before you start your takoff. Worked for me with other planes in the past.
September 13, 200520 yr Author Thanks. I did try that to no avail. However, I will try it again.:-hmmm P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
September 13, 200520 yr Crazy thought - make sure spoilers are retracted. Also, why not try this: Get into slew mode and elevate your plane to about 5000 feet. Then with full power on get out of slew and see if it will fly. That may give you some idea what the problem could be.
September 13, 200520 yr Author I check all those items before leaving the gate. :)Never thought of that. I'll give it a try.Thanks...............:) P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
September 13, 200520 yr Have you checked your fuel load? For example the A340 I use loads with all tanks at 100%...about 6000lbs overweight.Im fed up of adjusting tanks so I just set them all to zero - I have the Unlimited Fuel option turned on http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contri...y/corkysm20.gif
September 14, 200520 yr Author No, I haven't. I'm sure it's sitting at 100%. However, I don't think that is the problem. Have you ever tried any of the Van's 727's? I've had trouble with all of them. Thanks for the suggestion.:-wave P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
September 14, 200520 yr hello all,I wanted to interject something here, Although the flight model is NOT right, (I think the Pan Am with winglets flight model I flew wasn't too awful bad), the merge with the DF panel and all the cute extra's on this aircraft make it sort of special.I for one think if someone would put a really good flight model with it, it could become the all time 'freeware' best 727,as some of the features of the aircraft are really cool.I'll tell you this, if he could merge the flight model with the DF unit, the extra's which this aircraft has would make the trouble worth it.Best to all, Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. September 14, 200520 yr Author Hi Clay:Tried the winglet version and it was awful. Just flew the Vans 727-200ADV. Not to bad.In my opinion the best 727's come from the Vistaliners web site: http://www.eastern-va.com/vistaliners/I use them with Ken Mitchell's 727 panel and b727_pw-jt8-d_snd.zip by F P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
September 14, 200520 yr David,You are correct, the Vistaliners by Erick are really pretty good . . . as mentioned, the ONLY thing which makes the VANS even thinkable is the added extra's such as the baggage ramps, trucks and food service truck. Now, if someone could convince Erick to add those then there would be no doubt about his creation being the best 'freeware' 727 that has been done to date . . . also, he would need to merge the DF panel like VANS did. All in all, if someone knew anything about flight models at VANS they would be wise to modify thiers, but then again, it is freeware and perhaps they are busy with other projects.Best to all, Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. September 14, 200520 yr Author Clay:I agree wholeheartedly that the extras are nice. However, The art of flying is what really interests me. I don't see where Vans merged the DF panel? The option was there to select it if you already had it installed. In my case I did not.Do you know if Erick could be persuaded to add those items?:-samurai P4 3.0GHz 2GB Ram Nvidia 7600 GS OC 512MB Ram 150 and 120GB HD's Win XP PRO SP3 FSX Gold Edition
September 15, 200520 yr I would like to think we could persuade Erick to add those options, however, being an artist, sometimes that is the last thing on their minds after they finish with a project:So Erick, if you are listening, how about the service trucks and such as VANS has . . . it would ascertain your place in 727 freeware history for quite awhile.Best to all, Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. September 15, 200520 yr David,Downloaded from your link last night and all I cn say is WOW!Those 'bare metal' finishes are awesome! I aliased it with Ken Mitchells panel taking your advice and in my opinion it's better than 'CS'. I haven't got the dreamfleet panel so I can't comment on that.Dave T. .........On the lovely warm Devon Riviera and active 'FlightSim User's Group' member at http://www.flightsimgrpuk.free-online.co.uk/ Dave Taylor
September 15, 200520 yr Dave,In this day and age, it doesn't take much to be better in the mode of flight model than the CS -- it was ok in it's time, but being very old now, and the fm never being right really doesn't make it a high water mark for flight models . . .on graphics and eye candy, it WAS the high water mark of the time.If you are really a 727 fan, the DF is the only way to go, as it is about as near perfect and comes closer to flying like the real thing than anything else ever offered. If you are a fan of great payware at all, then the DF 727 is the new standard which will be around for quite some time.Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T.
