Hi I have a problem with FO understanding when I say OFF, When I say OFF he replays "checked", when he should proceed to next item on the list. If I repeat OFF about 6 times he might get it. Windows voice recognition understands me perfectly, I even added OFF to the dictionary. When im dictating to notepad it's all perfect.  Actually I'm typing this right now with voice recognition.  Also external power is a problem for ground crew, but not for voice recognition.

    Im using proper checklists and correct checklist is indicated in main window. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Archie,

 

Try keeping your mic away from your speakers, and try saying "off" with an mid-western American accent.

 

The Dash 8 is loud, so ambient background noise can be more of an issue.

 

I personally have no problems with off.

 

And if you ever get stuck, just say "Set and Checked".
