September 15, 200520 yr <<>>With an admission like that, Hogans, you're unlikely to find help here! There are several add-ons that include these files, however, and any of them improve default no end. September 16, 200520 yr Hi,How will both of you share CD#4?See, what you are doing is not legal and when you publicly admit to that, you are not going to get much help in this community.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 16, 200520 yr Yea Right!!!I can't believe that you admitted to sharing your CD's!There is no excuse for someone not purchasing FS9 anyways since I saw a copy of it available at the Walmart in my area for $20!For that price I am going to purchase a backup copy just to protect my disks.Scott :-8 :~P
September 16, 200520 yr Ok,So I slipped up,I'm sure no one else has ever done that right! My appologies, now can someone point me in the direction of those default files somewhere?
September 16, 200520 yr Hi,1. Call your buddy and tell him to buy his own FS04.2. Get your installation disks back.3. Find those files on your CD and copy and paste them.4. Put CD#4 in your drive to fly.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

September 16, 200520 yr Man,don't I regret posting this thread, I was able to fix my problem. In the future guy's really pay attention to what you post, because I can't wait to respond the way that I have been responded to!

September 16, 200520 yr Hello Hogans, You must understand where everyone is coming from. Running FS9 on your computer at home is ok, but lending someone the program is piracy any way you look at it, by law, and in the eyes of the developers. Even if your friend's CD broke and you were helping him out. I am sure you weren't trying to do any harm, but with piracy out of control these days, and the end user paying higher prices for software beacause of this, people will tend to not take kindly to this. Hopefully it was meant to help him, more than to save him the trouble of buying it. Best regards, Jeff
September 16, 200520 yr Hi JIM,Thanks to our fallen comrade Hogan,(So he said he is sorry!Lets use the three struck rule.) he pointed up a procedure of which I'm not aware of.How do you do that?copying and pasting from a disk? For all these years on the Sim ,I never figured that out,and never asked how. When I had a problem ,I reinstalled, then some 8hrs later,I was OK.Gotta be a better way? " HELP I Fell DOWN AND CAN'T GET UP" NOT! THANKS IN ADVANCE VIN :-zhelp
September 17, 200520 yr Hi Vin,I am going to base my answer thinking that you are running WinXP.1. Put one of the FS9 CD's in the drive. If it is #1, hold the shift key and the AutoInstaller will not start.2. Use Windows Explorer to open the CD directory.3. Now you should be seeing the contents of the CD.4. Now, if you know the location of the files you need you can go to that CD and location (like the city sceneries are on CD4). There are some who have these catalogued, here and at Flightsim.5. If not then you need to open each game folder or CAB file.6. Then you just highlight the file as normal and Copy and Paste. Our friend here could have found the textures on the CD and done the same.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
September 17, 200520 yr Thank you Jim,Your very clear instruction will help a lot.Glad I asked. Thanx , Sincerely VIN
