AeroSim Update #2 for Classic Liners Vol 2

Featured Replies

Thanks, Ed. Hey guys, watch out if you've installed extra paints - I know you all have. The AIRCRAFT.CFG files will be overwritten, so back up and add your paints in again afterwards.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Hi Mark,Thanks for the heads up on the cfg file.Ed

Hi ChapsI just installed the Classic Liners 2 with both updates and I can't press any of the buttons on the keypad in the INS of the L-1011. I can rotate the selecter knob and I can change waypoint numbers with the bezel above. I can also manipulate the FMS above the INS.I can operate the buttons in the DC-10 and DC-8 models, just it's just the 1011 that I can't input waypoints into.Any ideas anyone?CheersTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif

Tim,The L1011 has kind of a dummy INS. All the waypoints are loaded into it through the FMS. You must build a flight plan as per the Flight Handbook. It's done in Notepad. Then imported into the INS through the FMS.I use the NAVData database to get waypoints, routes, airports, navaids and fixes in decimal degrees and build my flight plan using the format described in the Flight Handbook.I don't remember ever being able to load any waypoints in the INS directly with the L1011, either initial release, SP1 or SP2.It sure would be nice if they setup a Forum.Ed

I haven't even tried the thing yet, I'm too busy trying to paint it.Has anyone tried importing the CIVA INS into it?MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Hi EdI finally figured it out myself after scratching my head for a while. It seems really hard to make your own flightplans for this system. A flightplan creator would have been a useful tool!CheersTimhttp://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif

Someone has already come up with a tool to import .pln (or was it .fsn?) files for the Aerosim birds, Tim. Can't remember the filename offhand and as I'm just pouring myself the first Gin and Tonic of the day, I know you'll bear with me if I leave further details to others!MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

Tim,It's not really hard once you do a couple. More time comsuming than anything else.Use a chart or FSBuild to build a route and then NAVData to get the decimal degrees Lat/Long or just divide the two numbers ahead of the decimal point and the ones after it by 60 and use that number in the flight plan in Notepad.Mark, thanks for the heads up about the flight planner. This might make flight planning a little easier.pln2as.zipDo a search in the Avsim library for the above file name or just so a search on AeroSim. I just downloaded it and will look at it in just a minute.Ed

Ed and MarkThanks for that, I found the file. Also, the engines on this a/c seem to be spooling up and down like crazy especially on the approach. Or is it me?Also even with low fuel loads the tyres seem flat!I must say I do like the a/c though and look forward to your CX livery Mark. Can you also do an RAF tanker/transport scheme as well for me?Such as this one http://www.airliners.net/open.file/908782/L/ or this http://www.airliners.net/open.file/898944/L/ And how about this for an angle of rotation!http://www.airliners.net/open.file/856988/L/ CheersTim http://members.chello.nl/t.westnutt/realair.gif

I downloaded the flight plan program and tried it.I found you have to look at the output file and it will need some editing. It doesn't have the right format and there are too many numbers in the LAT/LONG and the decimal points are either in the wrong place or there are too many. But that being said, it's easy to fix and you're on your way. Thanks to Stefan Hofg

Tim,I get the spooling up and down if I use the auto thottles for take off. Just set the thrust manually and then take off. Read page 42 through 46 of the manual again. My tyres look just right, maybe it's your AFCAD file? Are you using a different one or the FS9 default?Ed

HelloI have had the same problem with Pln2As but after contacting Stefan he sent me another version which is working great now, seems it was a locale problem.Hopefully he will upload the fixed version soonGraeat tool

Hi,I just uploaded the updated version of pln2as. If you want to download it, the filename isPLN2ASv1.1.zipIt should appear in the library soon. Please let me know if you encounter any problems.Kind regards,Stefan Hofg
