What do I make of this?

That should read " OOM with 1,142,888 Hmmmm"  (I am unable to edit the topic..)

Simply - OOM's occur when a process requests more CONTIGUOUS memory than there is available. It is quite possible to get an OOM with plenty of TOTAL memory available when the contiguous request is too large.
