Aerosim Vol 1 - YEUCH

Featured Replies

I have been reading over the last few days a few threads singing the praises of Aerosim Vol 2, I hope it's better than Vol 1 - I should have saved my money and gone for freeware. The word pathetic comes to mind !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Panels - If you want to play with the INS on the 747 fine. Otherwise save your money. Being a fan of DG Simulations Vol 2 didn't seem like a good idea and unless it is at least 300% better than Vol 1 forget it, I'll stick with what I have thankyou. Wow INS, OK as long as that is the only reason you have for buying it! Anyone here ever ever seen the default 737-400 radio stack in a 727? If not then pop over and d/l this product!Documentation - Oooooh pics of panels! Ooops, a 747 tutorial fine if you bought it for the the 747 but what about the other two aircraft? Not even a knee panel - gosh that would have been so difficult to write.Support - Ah of course there is an email address. Maybe I can ask for a new panel and some documentation.Summary: If it was freeware I would stay away.Andrew Brownhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Not being one to not put my money where my mouth is here are some BETTER aircraft to use. No VCs but you ain't missing anything. A view of the runway is far superior to what you would have to pay for.727 sa_727_200_fl_pck.zippanel rp727pn3.zip plus rp727fs2004_bugfix.zip737 sa_b737_200.zippanel ps737v2.zip747 from http://www.projectopensky.companel http://www.mitchspanelshop.com/There you go all freeware from AVSIM, POSKY and Mitch!Andrew Brownhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Well, I guess everyone can have their own opinion. I'm a great freeware supporter as most know and have everything you list there; but I just LOVE the Tristar in the Aerosim V2. I haven't even tried the other planes in the package yet, because I'm not really interested in them. I don't have Aerosim V1, but Staffan Ahlberg, whose opinion (and work) I respect, thinks it's just fine for what it sets out to be.So it's a Yeuch from you, and a Yes from him. And a Yo from me for the V2.MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

"No VCs but you ain't missing anything."--------------I was looking for VC's ... it's hard to find some of these planes with VC's ('B737 Experience' is good though) and I like landing and taking off from VC view. I agree that these VC's aren't at the top of the detail level but I thought they were pretty decent (the 727 and 737 could use better overhead panel bitmaps and some other interior flatish grey things could be textured). It's all up to the person. If one of these planes was 20$ I'd say it was too much.

Andrew,You have many valid points. For the B747-200 Ready for Pushback is the best one I've seen for a B747 Classic panel. You can install the CIVA INS and fly any route you want.As far as AeroSim's Classic Liners Vol 2.Their Tristar is very well done and the FMS/INS is right on. It also flies a beautiful coupled ILS approach. The model of the Tristar is very accurate. or at least the best one so far.It does have a couple of issues, but they minor compared to the overall product. The documentation isn't as complete as others I've seen, but it's enough to get you up and flying.I would like to see a support forum and I find it rather odd that they haven't set one up yet?I am pleased with the AeroSim L1011 and would recommend it to anyone who would like to have Tristar to fly in FS9. I know Mike Stone will be releasing his Tristar soon and it looks very good. I don't think it will have an FMS/INS that you can couple to the autopilot, which AeroSim does, which for me is worth the price of $35 dollars. If you are looking for the best Tristar to date you may want to consider AeroSim's Classic Liners Vol.2. Just my thoughts of course.Ed

<<<>>>Eh? Mike has already released a 500 (my Cathay paint of it, below) but I see nothing about anything else in his forum. Do you mean Erick Cantu's?http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/127322.jpgSince everyone seems to have seen the latter but me, by the way, has Erick modelled a VC?MarkMark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a]

You must be kidding. Do you really prefer to look at the runway, insted of this?

http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=211107&page=7I truly think you missed the whole point with the titles from AeroSim. ;-)If you think that you should find a "Level-D" simulator with AeroSim,..well then I guess you havn

Do you mean Erick Cantu's?Yes, sorry about that!Ed

>"No VCs but you ain't missing anything. A view of the runway>is far superior to what you would have to pay for."Yup, no VC if the 2D and VC panel for the 727 and 737 aircraft is better. Thanks for the pic of the 747 ;-)>>I truly think you missed the whole point with the titles from>AeroSim. ;-)Point? The same as all aircraft as far as I know.>If you think that you should find a "Level-D" simulator with>AeroSim,..well then I guess you havn

Aerosim Pilots Club.I don't suppose you have something for the keeboard. Not full documentation of course just V-Speeds, checklists etc?:-)Andrew Brownhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Thanks Ed. It's starting to sound like I should have gone with the 2nd Pack. I did consider the Ready For Pushback package and might go thay way some time, I think what drew my attention to this one was the 737 one of my gavourite aircraft.Andrew Brownhttp://www.gordiusfs.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Hi,The CA1 package is concentrated on the 747

Andrew,If your favorite, or one of them is the B737, you owe it to yourself to get the PMDG B737. This is an amazing aircraft and the FMS with NAVData updates is second to none.I would consider the best of the best.............B747-400.................PMDGB747 Classic.............Ready for PushbackB767.....................LDS B767B757.....................Freeware panels and planesB727.....................DreamfleetB737NG...................PMDGB737 Classic.............http://www.tinmouse.org/DC-10....................SGA DC-10 with Ed Cox's Photoreal cockpit.L-1011...................AeroSim with Ed Cox's Photoreal cockpit.PSS......................For all Airbus SeriesI don't like Lago or CaptainSim for airliners. Ed's panels aren't available yet, but sure hope he releases them soon.Do a review search on Avsim for more information.Post a question about an aircraft you are considering and ask others who may own it and then make up your mind. This is just my opinion of course. Don't worry about getting a program you don't like. I have many sitting around that I wasted my money on too, welcome to the club.I'm not saying that AeroSim Classic Liners Vol. 1 is a waste of money as someone my really like it and some may not. Ed

Hi Ed,That is a good list. However PMDG didn
