January 22, 201610 yr In theory, easy, but in practice I nearly always end up with a corrupt file that displays strangely (e.g. gauges no longer fit), or the whole bitmap looks blurred in FS9, even though I am careful to save in the same format and at the same dimensions. Is there a 'trick' to this that I am missing? I open the bmp in DXTBmp, send it to the editor (Photoshop), save the file as the PS default norm.bmp and reload it in DXTBmp (usually then save in DXTBmp as an extended bmp, DXT3, but depending on the original format). Must be that I am doing something wrong, in Photoshop, but I can't see what. Thanks for any advice. Martin Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
January 22, 201610 yr Commercial Member Panel bitmaps are normal bitmaps... DXTbmp is not needed for them, at all. They are 8-bit color depth and not extended nor DXT3 that I'm aware of. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
January 22, 201610 yr Author Yes, you're right of course! What was I thinking?! I am so used to editing repaints... But even so, editing the files directly in Photoshop usually ends up with the errors I described, so the question still stands. Thanks. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)

January 23, 201610 yr Author Yes, I'll have a go at one later and post the results! I seem to recall it's in a/c like PMDG that cause the issues rather than freeware, though I can't see why that should be so.. Martin Stebbing, EGLF (UK)
