MU-2 and OOM

Featured Replies

Is anybody else getting OOM when flying the MU-2? I use to get them in the Learjet until I install their patch to reduce VAS. Default flight using the Learjet my VAS is 1990MB or 49% at Lake Tahoe, and setting the MU-2 up at the same airport gives me 63%. Is there a way to reduce the VAS in the MU-2 like you guys did for the Learjet.

Thanks

Martin

I don't have the Lear, but the MU-2 has clearly a strong impact on VAS here compared to other similar models.

OOM? Well, that's all up to your resolution. In general, I don't have OOM (FSX-SE). However, it is highly recommended not to push your sliders up to the right when you use it, especially in the Seattle area where I have several Orbx regional packages and airports. This is always an area at high risk here.

I pretty much keep my sliders on standard or medium and resolution 1024, it's just that the MU-2 starts off with what seems to be a pretty high VAS?

Cheers

I confirm that the initial VAS with the MU-2 is comparably lower than the average at any airport. However, I do not suffer OOMs, unless I really want to. I should compare the MU-2 with the F1 King Air 200, which was by large the heaviest aircraft in my hangar (will try this later, if you want).

A very nice addon, not the lightest in terms of VAS, though.

In the Learjet the "Dimmer Lights" seem to be the cause of the high VAS, but not sure what is causing the high VAS usage in the MU-2. I also have the Flight1 King Air and I'm going to try that one next. Standard flight from Lake Tahoe to San Diego and with the MU-2 about 5 miles from KSAN I get the OOM?

Yes, agree love the MU-2 just wish I could fly it a little farther before getting the OOM..

Cheers

Seem like from a couple of quick tests I did last night is the Flight 1 KA200 actually uses less VAS than the MU-2 with both starting off at Lake Tahoe and just sitting on the tarmac. That's odd that the MU-2 would use more VAS than the KA with the G1000... :fool:

This is interesting. I've never had an OOM with the MU-2. I'll mention it to Mark and see if we can get an analysis going.
