February 25, 201610 yr I have Windows 10. It started when FSX wouldn't start because it needed Direct X. I downloaded an electronic flight bag , with that problem I un-installed it. I downloaded an A2A Updater which in the download was the Direct X. So, after that , I no longer got a Direct X pop up. Now I'm getting a fatal error message with FSX shutting down. In compatibility mode I , have administrator rights. I put my FSX disc. in to repair ( used 2 of the discs. ) I have the Acceleration , but it did not ask for the third disc. That didn't work. I downloaded a uiAutomationCore dll , but that didn't work either. Any ideas of what can be tried next ? Thank you
February 25, 201610 yr What does the fatal error message state? Is there an event in the Event Viewer? Any AppCrashView report? FSX has only two disks. The third must be Acceleration. That must be inserted and the repair program ran too as it contains SP1 and it updated FSX. So all you have is FSX installed. No SP1 or Acceleration. February 26, 201610 yr Author Thanks Jim. I repaired it without the third disc. that's why it didn't work. I got it confused with a clean install when after the second disc.you run FSX, but this wasn't a clean install. So now after running all three thanks to you it runs like a charm.
