January 23, 200620 yr Thanks for the info. I didn't know that :) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
January 23, 200620 yr well, I purchased the FiftyNorth 737 base pack and my opinion of the flight dynamics is that they are pure trash.I flew a test flight KBUR-KLAS with a canned flight program and found it to be somewhat overpowered. On my approach (SUNST1) I stalled no fewer than 12 times. For some reason I could not adjust my throttle (My VA does not use autothrottling) so that I either did not violate speed restrictions or maintain necesary airspeed to maintain my assigned altitude. The autobrakes do not work, The autospoilers can not be armed (shift+/ just toggles the airbrakes) and the aircraft wants to pitch up severely (between 10 and 15 degrees) at 145 kts on final with 15 degrees flaps. (I target for a touchdown speed of about 130-135 kts).I paid $15.00 for a flight model which is in my opinion worse than the FFX counterpart. Its funny that when you read the reviews they almost consistantly gloss over the flight model and focus soley on the visual package.Frankly I'm growing tired of it.I think I need to write the PMDG folks to see if they are willing to tackle a 737 classic version. They did it for "Fly" years ago and it seems there is a serious gap in good software for the 737 when it comes to the 300/400/500 series.Anyway Douglas I'll be PM'sing you for a copy of that modified flight model for the 400 myself.
January 23, 200620 yr Sam,email me and I'll send it to ya for trials, at least you would not have to put the old plastic to work and if you find it not up to snuff for your needs then no harm no foul. Douglas
