Question on Dimmer Patch in latest rev

After installing the latest Rev I went to install the dimmer patch updated version and noticed that the dimmer cab files installed with the aircraft have a different date on them than in earlier versions of the aircraft. So the question is have some upgrades been made to the dimmer cabs? Do I still need to install the patch to limit VAS?
