No visual of aircraft

I am using FSX and have just experienced SODE.  I installed V1.31,  When I load FSX and the Free Flight screen appears, the window which would display the default Cessna, for example, is black and you do not see the selected aircraft.


Any help please?

SODE??  Maybe I'm dense....what is this?     V1.31 of what?  Google search Black Free Flight Screen.

 

OK, got it!  V1.31 has to do with Aerosoft A320/321.   Will continue with my search!  Getting closer....

 

SODE =SimObject Display Engine.  More searching!

 

Some people have checked the DX10 preview box and said that fixed the problem.  I don't think

 

that is a long term solution.
