May 23, 201610 yr I have this GPU on the way from the person I bought it from EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5 256bit P/N: 04G-P4-2978-KR. Question, If I want to add another card to utilize the SLI feature does it have to be the exact same card including the part number or would any 970 with SLI compatibility work. How much additional performance will I get with FSX and Steam with a second SLI card? Will it be worth my $$$ Thanks Randy Intel I7 6700 4.0 CPU Western Digital Caviar 1TB SATA 6.0Gb/s Hard Drive 16GB DDR4 Crucial RAM. Corsair 750 Watt PSU. EVGA NVIDIA GTX1080 FTW GPU
May 24, 201610 yr Hi, I'm no expert on SLI, but the way I understand it is that as long as both cards are, for example, a GTX 970, SLI will function. I believe that if one of the cards is slower, the fastest card will match the performance of the slowest. How much additional performance will I get with FSX and Steam with a second SLI card? Will it be worth my $$$ It used to be said that SLI was not worth it in FSX as only a slight improvement was gained and only at very high resolution. That may have changed somewhat now we are all using higher res and AA settings. However, I suspect the bang for your buck will be minimal and render it a less than sound investment. Others will have to comment in regard to P3D. Don't forget... your PSU would also need to have sufficient performance to handle the demands of two graphics cards!
