May 28, 201610 yr One of the few flying WWII P-47D Thunderbolt (Jacky's Revenge) crashed into the Hudson 2 miles South of the George Washington Bridge. (Just North of where Sully went down) There are conflicting reports on the fate of the pilot. NJ State Police say pilot was rescued with minor injuries. MSNBC now though is saying the NYPD says that report was incorrect, and the pilot is still missing. The aircraft was one of a flight of 3 as part of the NY Fleet week events. The other 2 aircraft returned safely to Farmingdale Republic Airport. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/vintage-plane-crashes-into-hudson-river-during-fleet-week/ Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
May 28, 201610 yr Pilot is confirmed dead, body has been recovered. Last I read the man with minor injuries was attempting to rescue the pilot. Very sad event, especially with memorial day coming up. My sympathies go out to the pilot's family and flying buddies. Ethan Edelson
