May 30, 201610 yr Hi, I'm trying to learn how to paint my own liveries on PMDG. But I've noticed that the aircraft are quite 'shiny' which doesn't really match the livery I'm trying to replicate. So is there anyway to apply a matte finish to a livery and if so how do I add this matte finish? Thank you! Regards, James Nixon.
May 30, 201610 yr Play with the alpha channel settings - use different shades of grey until you get the reflection, or lack of, you need. May 30, 201610 yr Exactly the opposite - black = full shiny, chrome effect. White = no reflection. May 30, 201610 yr Hey James, Use DXTBMP, Load the Texture and Send the Alpha Channel to Your Paint Program, In Your Paint Program, Change the Color in the Alpha Channel, and "SAVE" the Texture ( Alpha ), Go back to DXTBMP, and reload Your Alpha Channel, then "SAVE" Your Texture. If You have any problems, this procedure has been around a Long Time, and there is tons of info about it, Online ! - GoodLuck - Johnman B)
