June 23, 20169 yr Is your i7-920 overclocked? My system is almost identical to yours with my 920 overclocked to 4Ghz. Overclocking will give a significant, free performance gain and you should get 4Ghz comfortably with decent cooling - many people have gone above that without too much trouble. I would overclock and then test your system with the SteamVR Performance Test software (http://store.steampowered.com/app/323910/) which will give you a good indication of how well your current setup would run with VR. I would certainly try this before paying for a system upgrade. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
