November 6, 200520 yr I recently reinstalled several Simflyers sceneries in my FS9 on a newer PC. They all work great, but it seems to me that when I tune an ILS for arrival, there is no DME displayed for the arrival runway on the cockpit DME gauge at those Simfleyrs airports. The DMEs are otherwise displayed and correctly for non-Simflyers airports. Is this "me" or is this something in the SimFlyers scenery? (I have posted this issue at Simflyers forum but so far, no responses.)Appreciate posts, thanks!JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
November 7, 200520 yr Author Which airports are in question? These airports may infact not actually have DME associated with their ILSs.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. November 7, 200520 yr John:Good point, hah! I do observe that a lot of MSFS airports have no DME associated with the ILS. The airports for me in this case are KIAD, EDDF and LIRF. I was sure KIAD must've had a DME beforehand although I cannot actually recall specifically. November 7, 200520 yr It does appear that the DME is missing for KIAD on 1R and 19L. I checked the Simflyers afcad, and also one I found here in the library. So, I edited it in AFCAD. It isn't in the default airport either. Per AirNav the position is 38.9197452/-77.435786.scott s..
November 7, 200520 yr Arghhhh! Sometimes I wish we could just instal stuff in FS and fly away...from all of this technical blurb !JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
November 7, 200520 yr Author It may be that there was no DME at the time of FS's data. Eugene has added a runway and localizer as well as another ILS just as of September of this year. Spokane last year upgraded and added a bunch of Taxiways last year and are in the process of building a large tower on the south end of the field by the old ANG hanger. So things change quick sometimes.
