win 10 what services and or features do you stop/disable ?

Featured Replies

I can't seem to get rid of the stutters.I'm running p3d and i get around 30 or so fps  but every other few secs  fps go down to 11 and back  up.

What services  or os features do you disable ? I can't find any  os guide for the sim.  By the looks of things   i might have to go back to w7.

thanks

I used this guide for my dedicated FSX PC -

https://tweakhound.com/2015/12/09/tweaking-windows-10/10/

It is very comprehensive and it works - i have never had a stutter (that I have seen) on my Win 10 i7-6700K 4.6Ghz GTX 1080 system.

Remember to exclude your FSX folder from your antivirus, and your weather engine, ATC program and COUTL (if you use them) - especially if you use Avast.

I use Windows 10 Pro as well - which allows you to set parameters around when windows update service is used. My understanding is that Windows 10 Home (or whatever it is called) does not have those options.

Essentially, I have all apps and all privacy intrusion settings turned off.

I have the same system on my laptop (which I use for everthing other than FSX) with everything turned on and it is like day and night with everything off versus everything on.

Regards,

Mark
