November 15, 200520 yr Airbus have been using sidesticks for many years now. They were introduced on the A320. The A318, 319, 320, 321, 330 and 340 all feature this kind of flightstick. Point being that it is not something new or special in the A380.Most crew seem to adapt to it very quickly.
November 15, 200520 yr The keyboard in front of the pilot is to control the OIT (the screen to the left on the captain position). The OIT shows all the pre-flight documentation (APT charts, etc...) including performance charts (weight and balance, speeds).Hope this helps!
