September 25, 20169 yr Recently my FSX has been crashing after getting the error message...."application blocked graphics hardware" It does not happen all the time, but when it happens, it is usually when I am in at cruise altitude. Has anyone had this problem? If so, is there a fix? Thanks for any help. My specs: FSX boxed with Acceleration Windows 8.1 (but run FSX in Windows 7 Compatibility mode) MSI GTX 970 16G RAM I7-4790K@4ghz
September 27, 20169 yr Make sure you are running FSX as an administrator for ALL users. Right click FSX.exe, select Properties>Compatibility Tab> look now at the bottom and make sure ALL users is enabled. Update your graphic card drivers. Check your computer for corrupted drivers - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833 Make sure UAC is disabled and your anti-virus and anti-malware program is not scanning your fsx folder when you install or reinstall graphics drivers. If no solution, try the following search - https://www.google.com/search?q=this+application+has+been+blocked+from+accessing+graphics+hardware+&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8#q=this+application+has+been+blocked+from+accessing+graphics+hardware+fsx Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource!
