The texturing (painting) on that one particular model are not correct. Posted this in the other thread as well. Scott

I was wondering the Cessna U206G Stationair 6 II . Is very VERY rare in real life i noticed. Does anyone know the diffrences between this model and the cessna 206 H model which is much more common to say the least. I would like to know the diffrences before i can buy it.Best regards:Alexander

The 'G' was discontinued back in the late 70's I believe. The 'H' was introduced (re-introduced) after that, but is essentially the same aircraft with typically nicer 'creature comforts' and updated radio stacks. The Carenado 'G' is pretty accurate (I believe) as an 'untouched' 'G' as manufactured....in other words, you still have the old radio stacks and NavoMatic autopilot (this version has no 'altitude hold').Performance wise I doubt there are big differences. Both seem to have typical performance numbers, and both had 'turbo' versions. The 'H' is still being built today, and can come complete with glass cockpit.Carenado likes to 'throw back' to origional aircraft 'as they were made' at the time of release. So you don't have updated avionics and such. You either like that or not. Personaly, I think it would be nice if they provided alternatives within these old models 'simulating' an updated version of the 'older birds'. In reality many of these aircraft have been updated by owners in terms of navaid equipment and such....all that said, I also like the 'old school' approach they have taken with their line.Oh yea...if you are waiting around for an 'H' version you might have a long wait ;)

As far as I gathered from an article on the new 206 the biggest difference is that the G (as its predecesors) has a Continental engine and the new one a Lycoming. The biggest difference here is that the old one should only be flown on take off power a maximum of 5 min. The new Lycoming can stand pushing out 300HP continously. The old ones are supposed to have a hint of a higher speed (a knot or two) and more payload (because of all the trinkets Cessna puts into the new ones that were options yesteryear)I must say I really like the Carenado's "old school" version. Otherwise the cockpit would basically look like the default 172.

Now if only they'd hurry up with that amphibian...BTW, check out the screenshots forum for pics of some great repaints for this plane by Frank Steffens! Some are already in the library with more on the way.
