GTX 1050 Ti Mini vs GTX 1080, no difference in FSX/P3D?!

Featured Replies

I had a GTX 1050 Ti Mini that I got on Amazon for less than $130 and I can get roughly 50fps in 1440p with high settings, but was suprised when I spent $700 on a upgrade to GTX 1080 that it only went to 60fps...

I know that FSX is CPU bound, (I have 4790k OC'd) but isn't P3D GPU scalable??!

If your first CPU core assigned to P3D is running at 100% your GPU will desperately wait for information to render. In that case the gpu might run at less than 50% of its maximum. The only way to increase FPS in that case is to overclock your CPU, but be aware of the risks of doing so.

Do you have vsync on and are you using a 60 Hz monitor? Because in that case your frame rate will naturally be capped at 60 fps.
