P3D Crashes to Desktop with No Fatal Eorror

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I hadn't played P3D in a while and decided to start it up last week. I kept trying to open it "Run as Administrator" and the splashscreen would load but all of a sudden it goes away and closes with no error message. If i open while viewing task manager, i watch the program disappear. No error message or anything,

So I did a complete uninstall (Deleted the appdata files, the files in documents, and the registry files) then reintalled P3d two times and it still keeps crashing. I even tried making a new user and installing it on that user but it STILL crashes with no error message.

I know there could be many thigs wrong, so if you guys have any ideas on what it could be to try help me narrow this down it would be GREATLY appriciated!!

Thanks

Tyler

A couple of things to try, just in case. Do you use FSDT airports? Make sure you install the latest Addon manager if you do. Also, update FSUIPC with the latest if you use that.

I had a ton of different FSDT airport installed however I uninstalled them along with the coutatl. The sim hasn't even ran long enough to generate the default shader files. The picture bellow shows my appdata local file

Here is a picture of my directory, I havnt installed anything but P3D. Also not, when I initially installed P3D and this problem began, it was installed on my C drive, I now have installed it on a different SSD.

Hello Tyler,

You currently only have the Client Installed, You are missing the Content and Scenery components in your Core prepar3D folder. You should have 17 Default Yellow folders with a Fresh Install of PreparD v3, 6 for Client, 11 for Content and 1 for Sceney

Run the Content and Scenery Components individually

Hello Tyler,

You currently only have the Client Installed, You are missing the Content and Scenery components in your core prepar3D folder. You should have 17 Default yellow folders.

So how to I get those installed? I ran the P3D Installer and it said Installation complete. Here bellow is the apps page in the control panel.

Also, Elaine, when I uninstalled P3D this morning, I followed you method and deleted everything including the reg entries. Any other ideas?

Thanks!!

This has happened to me before, It's not unusual

Click the link above, Go to your Prepar3D download folder and follow the steps in the link in that order.

You can also run the Client Installer again, it may give you an Option to Repair, Just click repair, when finished proceed to Content and Sceney.

When completed, Go back to your Core Prepar3D folder and insure you have 17 Default Yellow folders

Ok - Problem fixed. I reinstalled to my /c drive but had to run these 3 installers to get the rest of everything to install...
