January 7, 20179 yr So I've just fitted my new 500GB SSD, and the first task was to move XPLane off of the clunky old HD. Which mostly went OK, but some files failed to copy and had to be skipped. They looked to be associated with the few payware planes I have installed. Caranedo, the MU-2 and the Jetstream. Is it best to just reinstall these? Is any deactivation needed first? Any other gotchas before firing up Xplane? Thanks Keith ...
January 13, 20179 yr For your X-Plane files, simply moving the folder to the new location is all that is needed. I believe that Caranado creates a registry entry though, for anti-piracy, so you will probably need to do a re-install of that using the installer. I have no experience with the MU-2, but it may be similar. Have fun, enjoy your new drive! Kerry W. January 13, 20179 yr My Carenado planes (Bonanza F33, C208, PC-12) worked fine just copying them across to the new XP11 location without doing anything else. I haven't tried my MU-2 yet, but the usual deal there is you just copy it over and it will (probably) trigger a re-authorization request with the X-aviation server. I don't think you have to uninstall or delete the old version; it just keeps track of the one location for a current activation. I saw at least one report that the MU-2 works fine in XP11 beta. I don't know about the Jetstream. X-Plane and Microsoft Flight Simulator on Windows 10 i7 6700 4.0 GHz, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1660 ti, 1920x1200 monitor
