Good Swiss scenery?

Featured Replies

hi allI have been inspiered by watching the two Swiss WARDVDs so i am looking for some good freeware or paywarescenery of Zurich and Geneva airports and Swissscenery in general, mesh terrain etc. Does anyoneknow of any good offerings?CheersAndy S

Daniel Gauthier has a good freeware Geneva. I think it's available here on Avsim. He has also done a lot of minor Swiss airports which are well worth checking out. I think there is a freeware of Zurich (not Daniel Gauthier) but can't remember who did it. The payware package is Switzerland pro which covers Zurich. I haven't checked it out but by all accounts, it's good. I use Lago's terramesh which I can recommend (inexpensive payware) and I think there is freeware mesh available too. If you do a search in the Avsim library scenery section under 'Switzerland' you'll find several packges of interest.Happy Alpine flying

This is still by far the best - the whole Switzerland area in high-resolution 'VFR' made from air-photos down-sampled to 4,8 m/Pixel resolution. The Mash is done in great 20 Meter-grid. (LOD11) So every hill will be detected.......... :http://www.flylogicsoftware.com/site/de/pr...chpro/chpro.htmThere's even more here:http://www.flylogicsoftware.com/site/frameset_de.htmhttp://www.fspassengers.com/images/banner/sig/sdc6.jpg

HiZurich airport - quite a big airport in Europe - has been neglected for a long time both by payware and freeware developers. There is an old payware scenery by Flylogic, but it does not meet FS2004 standards and it is even bad on frame rates. The same goes for a freeware scenery by Mohler.Everybody here in Europe/Switzerland is waiting for a new LSZH scenery by Marcel Felde (www.digital-aviation.de), which was already announced last April. I am now not sure anymore whether it will payware or freeware, however the screenshot looked absolutely fantastic:http://www.simflight.de/modules.php?name=N...rticle&sid=5380 Unfortunately it has become very quiet about this project, allthough it was annouced for a release in summer. About in September or October the author posted in a German speaking forum that there will be some news soon, however, we are still waiting for that. Actually the delay is now really becoming frustrating for simmers who are waiting for this release.RegardsWalter

Hi,You find the whole "Gauthier" collection and a lot of other swiss scenery here : www.aviasim.ch . The mesh, I am using is from Vince Van Veen (switzerland_austria.zip) but other freeware meshes for that region (like eur_srtm_07.zip and eur_srtm_O8.zip from Johann Baptiste) are also in the AVSIM library.Regards,Hugo

Daniel Gauthiers scenery is consistently excellent! No doubt about it!-Dasher7
