scenery.cfg item order

Featured Replies

I'm confused about the scenery.cfg file

I understand the entries have to be in a specific order

Can anyone tell me in what order ?

What must be on top and what near he end

Also, if I look at the scenery.cfg file itself,  the order is totally different then when looking at it  in p3d or sceneryconfigeditor.

The scenery.cfg file and the scenery library within P3D are reversed from each other. The first entry in scenery library is usually the last entry in the CFG. This is normal.

As to the order they are loaded in the sim - -  typically you have MESH - LANDCLASS - TEXTURES - VECTOR DATA - in that order.  Your most detailed areas ( individual areas, airports, etc) should be loaded last.

This can get a bit confusing because if you look at he scenery.cfg file the detailed stuff s the last entries where in the scenery library they are the first entries.

There! Have I sufficiently confused you now?
