1. Open the Avast user interface and go to ‘Settings‘ » ‘General‘
2. Find the section called ‘Exclusions‘ and then click 'Add' on the ‘File Paths‘ tab
3. In the window that opens browse to C:\Users\[your username]\AddData\Roaming\PMDG\PMDG Operations Center and click 'OK'

For Chris's suggestion, simply right click on the Operations Center's icon and select "Run as Administrator."
