New system in UK for non builders

Recommended Posts

Hey people,

we get a lot of people asking about new systems in here, that don't want to or can't build themselves.

Just come across this for UK people in this boat, best spec I've seen for flight simming for the best price, built by one of the most respected Pc companies in the UK, all with a 3 year warranty :

Calling it "overclocked”, whilst technically true, is a little cheeky for just a 0.1GHz increase! I would think that the cooler would seriously limit the real overclocking potential of the CPU. I'd want a higher power PSU as well - as they haven't mentioned a brand, I'd be suspicious that it was a cheap, generic model. You shouldn't cut corners on the PSU. Also, no mention of the brand or speed of the RAM. The case is very cheap and basic. The whole thing seems to have been built down to a price point. That said, they do offer a 3-year warrant so you'd have that to fall back on.

Possibly, however Overclockers don't tend to do "cheap", and seeing some of the systems here in the UK people have been asking about for the last few months, this is a cracking system.  You can usually upgrade parts with them as well for the cost of the difference in them.

I wouldn't dream of a PC I hadn't built myself personally, but for people that don't have the know how or time this is a great system.  Scan for instance, do an FSX recommended system with pretty much identical spec for over £1600.  OK it might not be the greatest case or the highest overclock, but if you're not a self builder, are you really going to be that bothered?
