RC4 reports no weather

Recommended Posts

My RC4 was working great but now no weather information.

On ATIS, for example, RC4 reports "zero" for all weather data.

Thanks for any suggestions on a correction?

Clearly something has changed recently. Can you recall what?

If you open the Controller page after loading a flight plan is there a frequency in the Departure Wx brf field?

Can you post a screenshot of the Controller screen.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, I have been working on FSX but can't remember what I did to cause a problem with RC4.

Yes, there is a frequency for wx briefing.  RC4 does everything but provide wx information.

I think where RC4 goes to get wx has been interrupted, but I don't know where it goes for wx.

What application are you using for weather?

RC connects to FSX's Simconnect via FSUIPC4. An aircraft must be loaded and electronics running.

Are you talking about a text display and/or audio. FSUIPC has been modified for Active Sky Advanced for better destination forecasting.

Try refreshing ai. You can advance the FS time by one minute. This also speeds up connectivity the FS9 and FSX weather reporting mechanism.

Be sure to try this at a default airport. Be sure COM1 is active. Turn off radio functions in your weather app usualy on COM2 so do they do not conflict.

Problem solved.

Latest update of FSUIPC (4.96 registered) in FSX modules looked odd because there were several missing tabs including "wind".

Reinstall of FSUIPC rendered same odd display in modules.

Deleted 4.96 and installed previous FSUIPC copy:  BINGO!

RC4 is now fully operational.

Thanks for the assistance!

Now the really BIG question, when will someone put out RC5?

Glad you're sorted. Sadly never for v5 I suspect.
