entering Speed restriction

i´m trying to get a speed restriction into the fmc thats associated with an waypoint. i enter 185/ and then press on the corrosponding line. why do i keep getting an invalid entry message?

whats the correct procedure to enter it?

You can't enter a speed restriction on its own in the Jumbo.

 

You can only enter a speed restriction in conjunction with an altitude restriction.

Here is a neat trick : Check the waypoint's predicted altitude and add the speed restriction required plus a SOFT altitude restriction.

 

E.g. altitude prediction is 3854. Now add 210/2500A. This way you enter the speed restriction but no altitude restriction of any impact.
